Why are custom fabric treatments expensive?
Custom fabric treatments are an investment in the décor of your home, much like a piece of fine furniture, artwork, or Oriental carpeting. When you purchase a custom treatment from Kuhns and Heller, you are receiving more than just window treatments. You receive professional advice from a talented decorator who visits your home to accurately measure your windows and assist you in selecting the fabrics and treatment styles most becoming to your home. Once your fabrics arrive in our workshop, experienced seamstresses begin making your treatment in close collaboration with your designer, ensuring that the finished product is what you envisioned. Our certified installers then install your window treatments, and our friendly customer service representatives help with any service requirements that arise over the lifetime of your treatment. You will experience years of enjoyment from the window treatments you select; and should you someday sell your home, they will add value and interest to prospective buyers.
How long does a consultation usually take?
The initial consultation for blinds, shades and shutters takes approximately one hour, and includes careful measuring of your windows. Consultations for custom fabric treatments take a little longer — up to two hours. Sometimes additional time is necessary to finalize your fabric and style selections. After we meet with you and assess your window treatment needs, we will present you with options that fit your taste, lifestyle and budget.
What are the payment arrangements?
We request a 50% deposit at the time you place your order, and the balance upon installation. We accept Visa and MasterCard, checks and cash.
Once I place my order, how long will it be until installation?
We usually install blinds and shades within one month. Custom fabric treatments generally are in your home within eight weeks, provided the fabric is in stock.
What are your guarantees?
We honor the manufacturer’s warranty on all products we provide. These warranties cover manufacturing defects, but not misuse, abuse or normal wear and tear. Cords on pleated shades and blinds are warranted by the manufacturer for three years. Kuhns and Heller warranties our labor on all drapery treatments, and our installation service, for a period of one year from installation.
What happens if I have a problem with my window treatment?
Please call our customer service department if you have a question or problem regarding operation or maintenance of your window treatment. We will be happy to assist you. If we are unable to address your problem by telephone, we can schedule a visit by one of our trained installers.
